I do wish @Joplin or @Nextcloud ðŸ“±â˜ï¸ðŸ’» notes could handle handwritten notes. I'm currently stuck using #samsung notes, but they don't sync to #linux machines.

Any other suggestions?

2 things I'm looking for are:
The ability to create a handwritten note, and later be able to alter it. Like paper and pencil, I could add to it, or erase something.

The ability to search handwritten notes. I'm assuming some type of OCR would be needed for that?

I realize that's asking a lot. Handwritten notes carry deeper significance, but it's hard to merge with a digital world.

I think the reason I convert to text is simply for searchability.

@Joplin I really like your app. I was even trying to make it work with the Fediverse - or better saying with #Hubzilla #^https://hubzilla.org/ . Hubzilla has a cloud and WebDav. With the FF Browser Web clipper i was able to store images from the web to Joplin and sync it to a folder in the Hubzilla cloud - that works grade. If Hubzilla could share .md files not just as a download it would be even more interesting to use Joplin and Hubzilla in the Fediverse as Clipping and sharing tolls -

My favorite thing about the #fediverse is that it gives YOU total control over what you see and what you don't want to see. It's free speech. No algorithms. If you get banned from an instance, you just go find one that fits you better. I have the right to block certain words or phrases or people. You have the right say whatever stupid thing it is that you want to say.

Also, It's not all that hard to create your own instance on a multitude of different pieces of software. I've created my own #mastodon , my own #pleroma , and now my own #hubzilla instances.

It's all such a no-brainer. Plus, the really cool people who really want the best for the world are here.

@Big Diggity Hard to say, have you tried a simple reboot? Maybe after the upgrade only to deactivate the maintenance mode via occ is all you have to do, but please do examine the logs first.

I did test with pixelfed on yunohost but I will not use it. Update is not ok. I don't want to search the reason and reading logs ... It was part of my test. Then I will not use it with Yunohost.

@Kris I'm not sure if I'll keep the matrix or jitsi apps on my yunohost. It was cool to install but not really necessary. Matrix runs fine. I might keep that one for a while longer, though I'm having trouble accessing the admin side is it.

Not ready for public implementation yet. But quite the accomplishment for me. ðŸ˜Ž

@Ji Fu Mostly tinkering. Social.talesofmy.life is my hubzilla instance. I created it for a future when my friends finally realize how evil Facebook is and want to try something new. I'm currently using Digitalocean with Yunohost installed. I really want it to live in my house, but I was cautioned that it could pose a security risk if not done correctly. I guess the advantage to hosting my own is that I don't have to wait for Admin to add features. Hubzilla has NOMAD identity, so my account is cloned on Zotum.net.

For the record, I've already killed my jitsi meet instance and unsure if I'm keeping the Matrix.

wow wonderfull. My conclusion
- Nextcloud is nice for work. Writing a document inside a group. Easysier than hubzilla.
- Hubzilla is for nomadic identity more complicated but much more secure
